Reconnect&

Grow

Using a combination of natural materials; moss, mycelium, soil and gathered seeds, experimenting with shape and form, wrapping the contents with moss and natural twine. Over the coming weeks, these natural figures develop, leaves sprout and fungi pops, life goes on.

3 month research project with Urban Wilderness CIC. Inspired by Japanese Kokodama and mycorrhizal fungi networks, these living sculptures, made from biodiverse materials such as fungi and moss, question our relationship with nature and propose new forms of symbiotic ecosystems within the public art landscape.

During this time I connected with local mycology mentor, Brendan Mcdowell, who guided me through the wonderful world of mushrooms.

The work was displayed in the window of a disused city centre retail space, evolving day by day, transforming in full view.
